Stern Drive Basic New Buyer Check Out
Check transom drain plug
Test run and check compression
Check for proper operating temperature
Check charging, spark and cooling, check ignition system
Check for marine components
Run Salt-away through engine
Check choke operation
Check fuel system for proper operation, replace water separator fuel filter
Check condition of belts and tighten
Check & change gearlube & washers, check for water in lube, pressure & vacuum test if water found
Check speedometer pick up
Remove drive, inspect u-joints and bell housing
Check shift cable and engine alignment
Install drive, replace gaskets and seal
Remove and check prop, check for fish line
Grease shaft and install prop with new pin
Check cooling system, check water pump output and condition
Check steering and control cables
Check total steering system ease of operation, check hydraulic steering system, check and top off power steering fluid
Check trim wear pads
Check all safety functions
Check shift cable and engine alignment
Perform audio and visual check, check overall condition
Check boat accessories, check instruments and lights
Check anodes replace as needed
Check blower, check gauges
Check bilge pump and float switch
Check, test & service battery, check battery fluid & fill, charge battery, check connections, replace wing nuts with locknuts
